Alignment With Government Waste Treatment Strategies

The RRP concept delivers on three key strategic themes to achieve Governmental waste policies.

The Australian Federal Government is committed to waste treatment strategies and objectives. It exerts legislative influence on state and local government waste practices to ensure common goals across all states and territories.

State governments are primarily responsible for regulating the waste sector, with local government playing a key role in implementing policies and regulation.

Queensland recently published a series of waste strategies, included dedicated Energy from Waste policies. These strategies have driven policy development by key local councils and bodies, such as the South East Council of Mayors (CoMSEQ), which includes Toowoomba Regional Council.

The CoMSEQ waste strategy identifies three key themes to support Queensland’s waste policies, and to which the QEW Solutions approach to alternative waste treatment is aligned:
